"Małe monumenty" - betonowe pawilony

Abstract
In the history of architecture, pavilions have always been and still are an ideal field for experiments - regarding form, structure and matter. When designing pavilions, the creators have more freedom than in the case of buildings of a larger scale and more or less complicated function. Pavilions can become a kind of "laboratory" in which architects try new solutions. Completed pavilions often embody fantasies that either turn out to be utopian or are accepted by the architectural world. Such solutions can be than used in larger structures, "real" buildings. In their experiments, pavilion creators also choose architectural concrete as a building material. The concrete matter makes the pavilions take on a stronger character of "small monuments". The text is an analysis of three examples of pavilions made in the technology of architectural concrete, in which the use of this particular material allowed or helped to carry out a formal, typological or technological experiment.

- W historii architektury pawilony zawsze stanowiły i nadal stanowią idealne pole do eksperymentów dotyczących formy, struktury i materii.
