Abstract
Photoinduced monomer polymerization is gaining popularity as an ecologically benign and safe process for producing protective polymer coatings on a wide range of surfaces. It has several advantages. The primary benefit of photopolymerization over other techniques of polymer coating preparation is its speed. Photocurable compositions are converted from a liquid to a completely crosslinked solid in seconds or even fractions of a second, with no volatile solvents released into the atmosphere. Aside from its speed, radiation curing has numerous additional advantages, including ambient temperature operation, solvent-free formulations, and minimal energy use [1]. Fluorescent materials are rapidly being employed in a variety of industrial industries, including painting, paint manufacture, and 3D printing, as a result of increased interest in them. These materials can also be utilized effectively as photoinitiating systems in light-initiated polymerization operations. In the case of photopolymerization, the goal is now to employ light sources that are less damaging to living beings. As a result, safer UV light sources are increasingly being employed for both radical and cationic polymerization of multifunctional monomers [2]. The following work presents the possibility of using new fluorophores derived from the synthesis of citric acid and the corresponding amines as photosensitizers in initiator systems used for light-initiated polymerization processes.
