Abstract
The fourth industrial revolution Industry 4.0 formulates new requirements for measuring systems. One of such demands is the necessity to use measurement accuracy assessment methods which can give information about system condition in shortest possible time. In case of Articulated Arm Coordinate Measuring Machines (AACMM) the basic methods used for system accuracy verification are time consuming, additionally they are based mostly on determination of length measurement error which can be hard to refer to other measuring tasks included in Geometrical Product Specification (GPS) standards. Therefore, new method is proposed which is free of mentioned drawbacks. The methodology is based on gauge block measurements which is not only used for length measurements but also for other tasks including form and orientation tolerances control. Results show that developed methodology can be helpful in determining the task-specific accuracy of the device, which results in the expansion of its measurement capability.
