Abstract
This paper addresses the use of the polynomial method for the accurate modelling of the temperature sensors on the example of resistance detectors. The theoretical section presents a short characteristic of the polynomial method and the selected temperature sensors. The experimental section includes the modelling of the Platinum RTD (resistance temperature detector) and the NTC (negative temperature coefficient) thermistor using the polynomial method. The main advantage of the proposed method is the possibility of using an analogous class of mathematical model for all types of temperature sensors and the possibility of determining both the uncertainty of the modelling method and the uncertainty of particular model parameters. The presented method can be applied to any type of RTD or NTC sensors.
