Abstract
Electrochemical machining ECM in comparison with other conventional methods, i.e., milling, is characterized by the zero of tool wear as well as high quality of the surface obtained. Due to these advantages, this type of method can be successfully used in space, aviation and automotive industries. ECM has also some limitations related to physical phenomena occurring during the process, such as passivation, hydrogen liberation or temperature increase in the electrode gap. These limitations affect the possible shape-dimensional accuracy or machining efficiency. In order to overcome these disadvantages, the use of hybrid processing is justified. The following article presents the process of electrochemical machining assisted by ultrasonic vibrations and external magnetic field.
