Research and evaluate the formation of local thermal cracks in mass concrete structures at an early age

Abstract
During the construction of mass concrete such as dams, bridge abutments, and piers, wind power foundations, house foundations, etc., cracks often occur at an early age. One of the main causes affecting the above problem is the amount of heat released during the cement hydration process. In order to evaluate the stress, thermal deformation formed in the mass concrete structure, it is necessary to determine the temperature distribution in mass concrete structure. Therefore, in this study, the author uses a numerical method in order to determine the temperature distribution inside the massive concrete structure. At the same time, evaluate local thermal crack formation in the structure at early age. The research results are references to the design and construction process of mass concrete blocks in Vietnamese conditions.
