Abstract
The phrase concrete architecture is slowly ceasing to raise controversy. This is obviously not a good prediction for its existence as the avant-garde of art’s world. However, its commercial success and recognition of concrete as a friendly material affect the general approval of recipients. Its beautiful roughness is becoming more and more attractive not only for professionals. This situation of modern architecture and its desire to break the form more and more, forces architects to use concrete as the most suitable material. The state of art, which the current architecture shows us, was predicted many years ago. In 1966, Juliusz Goryński, an architect and art historian, proclaimed a new approach to the aesthetic reception of such today common, (seemingly) unstable forms of buildings. In his works, he sought an objective approach to aesthetic criteria, emphasizing that: “Awareness of the material character and functional purpose of a building causes a feeling of anxiety in man, if the architectural composition does not confirm the physical stability of the building and safety of its usage”. Experience seems to confirm that this affects both the aesthetic assessment, at the same time. This means that buildings which composition causes concern about their safety are not considered beautiful or aesthetically pleasing. However, the construction technique is variable. The implementation of materials of higher strength and better construction to building practice allows the realization of buildings that, measured by the scale of past strength requirements, seemingly threaten to collapse. Such structures are considered ugly until the new technique enters into widespread use and influence the new shape of the building's sense of security. Concrete has always become a good tool for precursors and artistic avant-garde in pursuit of novelty. Both the Roman Pantheon and Centennial Hall in Wroclaw can be good examples of this.

W roku 1966 Juliusza Goryński architekt i historyk sztuki wieszczył nowe podejście do estetycznego odbioru tak powszechnych dziś niestabilnych (pozornie) form budynków.
