Abstract
Photochemical techniques using the fluorescence phenomenon are becoming increasingly important in various science fields, from molecular biology to polymer chemistry, due to their high sensitivity, selectivity, and non-destructive properties. The modern application of fluorescence in polymer chemistry concerns both photopolymerization processes and methods of control of polymerization processes and the characteristics of the obtained materials. The intensive development of photochemical techniques in polymer chemistry has been accompanied by the development of the fluorescent molecular probe technology, known as FPT (Fluorescence Probe Technology), for short. In polymer chemistry, FPT is used to monitor the progress of polymerization and photopolymerization processes and control the quality of raw materials used to produce polymers and parameters of finished polymers. The basis of the presented method is to measure changes in the probe's fluorescent properties as the environment in which the probe is located changes. Photopolymerization reactions are usually very fast, which is their main advantage. To monitor such processes, a fast measurement method and fast data collection and processing are necessary. Fluorescent probes react to changes in their environment during the nanoseconds so that the FPT method meets the speed requirements. For this reason, this method is most popular for tracking fast photopolymerization processes, but can also be used to monitor slow processes. Depending on the measuring environment, the appropriate sensitivity and quantum performance of the probe is required. Therefore, there are no completely universal molecular probes. Therefore, the search for new fluorescent sensors for monitoring photopolymerization processes is justified. This presentation presents studies on the suitability of 2-amino-6-[4-(dimethylamino) phenyl]-4-phenyl-pyridino-3-carbonitrile derivative as a fluorescence sensor for monitoring radical and cationic progress polymerization.

W chemii polimerów FPT znajduje zastosowanie w monitorowaniu postępu procesów polimeryzacji i fotopolimeryzacji, a także w kontroli jakości surowców stosowanych do produkcji polimerów i parametrów gotowych polimerów.
