Abstract
Geopolymer is an inorganic mineral binder. It is formed through geopolymerisation of silicates and aluminosilicates in alkaline or acidic environments. The behaviour at high-temperature exposure shows a significant advantage of geopolymer materials over cement binders. The goal of this research is to investigate the changes in mechanical properties that occur during heating. Four kinds of geopolymer mixes were prepared. One with fly ash as a precursor and the others with a partial replacement of fly ash by ground granulated blast furnace slag. Fly ash-based geopolymer mortar demonstrated the most advantageous behaviour after exposure at high temperature.
