Abstract
The liquefied natural gas (LNG) market is of interest to experts and analysts in the energy raw materials market, both at the national and international level. The increase in the share of LNG in the overall supply of natural gas is a reason that has many advantages over other energy resources. The main advantages are: natural gas is a “clean” energy source, because when it is burned small amounts of greenhouse gases are released; liquefied natural gas is a more marketable commodity than traditional gas, due to the wider possibilities of its supply in comparison with gas pipelines. Since the LNG gas market is less susceptible to monopolistic activities, it has become current to examine its economic situation on the basis of analyzing information on the ratio of demand and supply, as well as forecasts for the development of this hydrocarbon market.
