Abstract
Several research groups in the world have measured ground motion to estimate its influence on the parameters ofparticles in accelerators (e.g. luminosity, emittance). The chosen topics of the problem of influence of ground motion on vibrationsof particle accelerators are discussed in this paper. The main purpose of this paper is to present an overview of the methods andtechniques that can be utilized for estimating the impact of vibrations on the stability of the beam circulating inside a synchrotron(or moving within an accelerator in general). Specifically the paper presents the detailed results from the measurements performedat SOLARIS (National Synchrotron Radiation Centre, Cracow) and CERN (European Centre for Nuclear Research, Geneva).
