Evaluation of vortex flow controls efficiency based on CFD numerical modelling

Abstract
Aim of the paper was to map the bistable characteristics of vortex flow controls (VFCs) and to indicate op-timal geometry parameters of the tested ones, such as: chamber diameter, inlet and outlet orifice area for set project conditions. In addition, the method for assessing the range of effective use of VFCs was verified on the base of the so-called swirl parameter in regard to the obtained numerical modelling results.
