Abstract
Historical sources confi rm that in the second half of the 14th century King Casimir the Great had his fortalice erected in the village of Łobzow near Krakow. However, its appearance remains unknown. Furing the 1990s, Angelika Marsch discovered the oldest Panorama of Krakow known so far, dated back to the years 1536/1537. In 1998, Elżbieta Firlet published the work entitled “The Oldest Panorama of Krakow” in which she analysed the objects depicted there. In the study the author offered her interpretation of the location of the palace in Łobzow, which could be an extremely valuable insight into the issue of its appearance during the reign of Casimir the Great. However, that theory was called into question by Klaudia Stala, who suggested another location of the palace in the panorama. The aim of this work is to compare the two theories and, using the digital analysis methods, to fi nally determine the location of the palace in Łobzow on the panorama of Krakow from 1536.
