Identification of the acoustic parameters for the variable cross-section element. Numerical and analytical methods comparison

Abstract
Nowadays still it is a problem to introduce transfer matrix of the nozzle with variable geometry to the classical Helmholtz model to analyze it influence on the wholesystem. In the past several iden-tification methods were presented but some of them are too complicated for practical applications. Such a method must be reliable, easy and can’t be time-consuming. Two methods described in the literature meet all these conditions: the CFD-based identification method and analytical extension to the transfer matrix method. These methodscan be useful also to recognize the resonant frequencies for variable cross-sectiongeometries. From the other hand, nowadays the commercial software can beused to calculate various acoustic parameters for the variable cross-section elements. In this pa-per the identification of the generalized transfer matrix comparison for the nozzle-type geometry is presentedfor the analytical and CFD-basedmethod. Additionally the first resonant frequencyob-tained using three different methods are compared.
