Abstract
The paper presents some examples of proposals of application of the principle of superposition in the architectonic and in the engineering design. This principle constitutes the basic rule of a new simple two-stage method, which is very useful in of approximate calculation of statically indeterminate trusses. In each of the both stages there are considered statically determinate trusses, patterns of which are obtained as results of suitable withdrawing of appropriate members from pattern of the basic statically indeterminate truss. There are presented results of calculations of selected type of plane truss together with comparison of outcomes received by application of suitable computer software. Principle of superposition is also applied in the design processes of the geodesic roof covers and of the tall buildings including the way of shaping of their foundation system. There is presented structural concept of system of the composite foundation together with an example of tall building located on this type of foundation structure.
