Abstract
This paper presents a dynamic analysis of a concrete gravity dam under seismic shock using different numeri-cal models. One of the numerical models contained both structural and non-structural elements, whereas the second contains the structural elements only. The comparison of the results obtained for both models indicate that non-structural elements should be included in the numerical process. Failure concentration occurred espe-cially in the non-structural elements, in the crest of the dam. Its omission do not allow correctly define the serviceability limit state.
