Abstract
This paper presents a dynamic analysis of an integral bridge under seismic shock. The calculations were con-ducted for two different numerical models- global (simplified) model and detailed model (representing the connection between girder and cross-girder). In this approach, the submodeling technique was used. The level of the plastic strain in the global model and submodel were determined. The results obtained for both models were compared and the benefits of using the submodeling technique was shown. Due to using the submodel-ing technique, increased the accuracy of the results, without substantial additional computational costs was possible. The plasticity in the submodel was greater than in the global model. This shows that the results from submodel provide a safer, more reliable estimation of the structural response.
