Mathematical model of PM disc generator with iron cores of stator coils

Abstract
The paper presents a model of disc generator with permanent magnets and with iron cores inside the stator coils. The article focuses on the circuit model of the permanent magnet generator of axial magnetization with a stator which contains the nonoverlapping coils with modified magnetic circuit design. The aim of this work was to determine the flux-density distribution in three-phase generator magnetic circuit. Basing on this distribution, the circuit model parameters such as inductances, fluxes linked with the windings and qualitative characteristics of the cogging torque were determined for axial flux machine. To confirm the usefulness of the proposed models, the parameters of mathematical model obtained from analytical considerations were verified basing on 3D field analyses for the exemplary generator design.
