Abstract
We understand architecture, as defined, as the art of creating order in the environment in order to adapt it to satisfy the multiple physical, material and cultural needs of people through a planned transformation of the natural environment and building forms and separating space of various destinies. The idea of temporary architecture in recent years is gaining popularity as it directly concerns the present needs of its recipient. In the place of objects whose aesthetics was marginalized and they themselves were of temporary nature, interesting and valuable buildings arise, which in many aspects can be perceived equivalently to the architecture so-called “permanent”. Volatility makes it also interesting from the design point of view, when the creator is aware that in this case work will not be subjected to the assessment of time. The issue of temporary architecture is particularly important in the area of culture and art. On the one hand, offering a substitute place of contact with recipients, when the basic object is being rebuilt, and on the other hand enabling the existence of art in a place where it has not been present until now or for individual events. The paper present the role of temporary architecture with a theatrical function in shaping the urban tissue together with presentation of examples of implementation that, apart from fulfilling its function, positively influenced the reception of public space.
