Światłowody w pomiarach inżynierskich

Abstract
The article describes some examples of laborato ry tests, which aim was to verify the usefulness of fi ber optic measurement technology for practical engi neering applications. Optical fibers, due to the many advantages, have a c hance to become a c rucial so lution in the field of civil engineering called structu ral health monitoring. However, there are many pro blems to solve related to, inter alia, the way of moun ting and protection of weak fibers from mechanical damage. Preparing solutions for obtaining reliable and comprehensive knowledge about structure ope ration should generally lead to improved safety, while minimizing financial outlay.
