Abstract
This paper presents selected aspects of improving public transport service quality through Sustainable Urban Mobility Planning (SUMP). SUMP is a new concept of transport planning developed and promoted by the European Commission. In contrast to the traditional approach, this concept relies heavily on the involvement of citizens and stakeholders and institutional cooperation. It involves various levels of government and management between neighboring municipalities. The aim of the paper is to provide an overview of the importance of participation and institutional cooperation of SUMP process for the Krakow City.
