Abstract
The fourth volume of the Dictionary is the last part of a four-volume publication, which consists of Volume I A-D (1997), Volume II E-J (2000), Volume III K-Q (2005), as well as Volume IV R-Z (2017). Just like in previous volumes, the descriptions of entries that have numerous different meanings have been numbered. Compound entries have an alphabetical order according to the first letter of the supplementing term (printed in italics), regardless of whether they are preceded by a tilde (~), e.g.: field – pole, ~ analysis – studia terenowe; sown ~ – pole zasiane. This principle does not apply in the case of complex entries for proper names, e.g.: Forest Hill Gardens, Forest Law, where each entry is listed separately. If a description of an entry contains a cross-reference to another entry, it is printed in italics and marked with an * symbol, similarly to the system used when the explanatory section cross-references an additional explanation under a different entry („por.” – confer). Bibliographic sources for entries are provided in parentheses, e.g. (28), while those for illustrations in brackets, e.g. [84]. Illustrated entries are marked with the symbol .

- Czwarty tom słownika, jest ostatnią częścią czterotomowej publikacji, na którą składają się tomy: I A-D (wydany w 1997), II E-J (wydany w 2000 r.), III K-Q (wydany w 2005 r.) oraz IV R-Z. Podobnie jak poprzednio, również w tomie niniejszym objaśnienia haseł, posiadających kilka różnych znaczeń są oznaczone numerami. Hasła występujące w złożeniach, mają układ alfabetyczny według pierwszej litery hasła uzupełniającego (drukowanego kursywą) niezależnie od tego czy występuje ono przed, czy za tyldą (~) np: field – pole, ~ analysis – studia terenowe; sown ~ – pole zasiane. Zasada ta nie obowiązuje w przypadkach haseł złożonych, dotyczących nazw, np: Forest Hill Gardens, Forest Law, gdzie każde hasło figuruje oddzielnie. Jeśli w objaśnieniu hasła znajduje się odsyłacz do innego hasła, jest ono wydrukowane kursywą bez pogrubienia i oznaczone *, podobnie jak w przypadku odsyłacza (por.) kierującego do objaśnienia dodatkowego zawartego pod innym hasłem. Źródła bibliograficzne do haseł dane są w nawiasie np. (28), a do ilustracji w klamrach, np. [84]. Hasła ilustrowane znaczone są symbolem .
