Abstract
The article discusses the idea of new background architecture as a factor harmonizing space, which the author has previously addressed. It is extremely signifi cant especially in the context of cultural heritage. The problem becomes particularly acute in the case of reconstruction or attempts at revitalizing cities destroyed, also in the social sense, by World War II. There are many of those in Poland, especially in the so called Recovered Territories, after the changer of frontiers. Historic medieval cities there were destroyed as a result of the Red Army offensive in 1945. The article signals in the author’s opinion model restoration of the town quarter in Stargard, the more interesting since made as a commercial investment by the Modehpolmo Company. The erected buildings with service and residential functions ideally match the character of the place and needs of the users. The credit for it should be given both to the investor, and the architect – Jacek Lenart from the Studio A4 designing offi ce, in cooperation with conservation services and town authorities.

To niezwykle istotne zwłaszcza w kontekście dziedzictwa kulturowego. Powstała zabudowa o funkcji usługowej i mieszkaniowej idealnie konweniuje z charakterem miejsca i z potrzebami użytkowników.
