Abstract
The conference is a summary of another decade of yearly scientific meetings that take place under the name Landscape Architecture Forum. 20 years have passed since the first forum, organised in 1998 in Krakow on the initiative of the Landscape Architecture Institute of the Cracow University of Technology – years which have brought many changes in all of the leading subjects of the planned conference. It has been a time of discussion on the status of landscape architects, constantly building their professional and legal position. During this period, professional associations have become increasingly active, propagating landscape architecture on wider forums. New ideas, theories and urban planning concepts, among which there is also landscape urbanism, have shown that the landscape is perceived as a guideline, a determinant and goal of design. This has found its reflection in the form of legislation, both on the European plane, as well as in the Urban Planning and Architectural Code that has been in development in Poland for the four past years. Development also applies to academic research, which has greatly intensified. It is characterised by interdisciplinarity and a diversity that arises from new currents, such as, among others, intelligent development, green infrastructure, ecosystem services, the working landscape, the recycling of space and many others, supported by constantly perfected tools and techniques. Unfortunately, this is not proportionally reflected in the amount of grants that are being awarded. Landscape architecture, which, in the classic definition by Ch. W. Eliot, implies the creation and preservation of beauty in the vicinity of human dwellings and, more widely – in the natural scenery of the country, still has this topos inscribed into the idea of the profession. Didactics and education are also subjected to change. They arise from the greater ability to diversify programmes and provide a more individualised educational offering, adapted to the profile of a university and the needs of the employment market. The mode of education has changed to a two-stage one, even a three-stage one, which ends with a doctorate. Over 15 universities in Poland, both public and private, provide education to landscape architects in Poland, which points to the development of the specialisation and gives us hope for a better quality of the Polish landscape. Accompanying events JUBILEE OF PROFESSOR ALEKSANDER BÖHM The XX Landscape Architecture Forum coincides with the 50-year anniversary of Professor Aleksander Böhm’s work at the Faculty of Architecture of the Cracow University of Technology. This year’s Forum is dedicated to the Professor. EXHIBITION OF DIPLOMA DESIGN THESES 12 years have passed since the first graduates of the landscape architecture course at the Faculty of Architecture of the Cracow University of Technology defended their diploma design theses in the year 2005. Engineers studies have been introduced in the present period, and the principles of developing diploma design theses have changed. We will show a review of diploma design theses that are being developed at our course. POSTER EXHIBITION An exhibition of posters presenting the study, scientific and design achievements of the participants of the XX Landscape Architecture Forum.

- Konferencja jest podsumowaniem kolejnej dekady corocznych spotkań naukowych pod nazwą Forum Architektury Krajobrazu. Od pierwszego forum, zorganizowanego w 1998 roku w Krakowie z inicjatywy Instytutu Architektury Krajobrazu Politechniki Krakowskiej, upłynęło 20 lat, które przyniosły wiele zmian we wszystkich wiodących tematach planowanej konferencji. Był to czas dyskusji nad statusem architekta krajobrazu ciągle budującym swoją pozycję zawodową i prawną. W tym okresie znacznie uaktywniły się stowarzyszenia zawodowe propagując na szerszych forach architekturę krajobrazu. Nowe idee, teorie i koncepcje urbanistyczne, wśród których jest m.in. urbanistyka krajobrazowa, pokazują, że krajobraz postrzegany jest jako wytyczna, determinanta i cel projektowania. Znajduje to swoje odzwierciedlenie w legislacji, zarówno na płaszczyźnie europejskiej, jak i w opracowywanym w Polsce od czterech lat kodeksie urbanistyczno-budowlanym. Rozwój dotyczy też badań naukowych, które znacznie się zintensyfikowały. Cechuje je interdyscyplinarność i różnorodność wynikająca z nowych nurtów, takich jak m.in. inteligentny rozwój, zielona infrastruktura, usługi ekosystemów, pracujący krajobraz czy recykling przestrzeni oraz wielu innych, wspomaganych przez doskonalone narzędzia i techniki. Niestety nie znajduje to proporcjonalnego odzwierciedlania w ilości przyznawanych grantów. Architektura krajobrazu, która w klasycznej definicji Ch.W. Eliota zakłada tworzenie i ochronę piękna w otoczeniu siedzib ludzkich oraz szerzej – w naturalnej scenerii kraju, nadal ma wpisany ten topos w ideę zawodu. Dydaktyka i edukacja także podlegają zmianom. Wynikają one z większej możliwości różnicowania programów i bardziej indywidualnej oferty edukacyjnej dostosowanej do profilu uczelni oraz potrzeb rynku pracy. Tryb kształcenia zmienił się na dwustopniowy, a nawet trójstopniowy kończący się doktoratem. Ponad 15 uczelni w Polsce, publicznych i prywatnych, kształci w Polsce architektów krajobrazu, co wskazuje na rozwój specjalności i rodzi nadzieje na lepszą jakość polskiego krajobrazu. XX Forum Architektury Krajobrazu zbiega się z 50-leciem pracy na Wydziale Architektury Politechniki Krakowskiej Profesora Aleksandra Böhma. Tegoroczne krakowskie Forum dedykowane jest Profesorowi. WYSTAWA PRAC DYPLOMOWYCH. Od 2005 roku, kiedy pierwsi absolwenci kierunku architektura krajobrazu na Wydziale Architektury Politechniki Krakowskiej obronili prace dyplomowe upływa 12 lat. W tym okresie wprowadzono studia inżynierskie, zmodyfikowano zasady przygotowywania dyplomów. Pokażemy przegląd realizowanych na naszym kierunku prac dyplomowych. WYSTAWA POSTERÓW. Wystawa posterów prezentujących osiągnięcia studialne, naukowe i projektowe uczestników XX Forum Architektury Krajobrazu.
