Mateusz Gyurkovich, Prof. D.Sc.Ph.D. Eng. Arch., Discipline: architecture and urbanism,

Speciality: architecture and urbanism, spec.: theory and designing in the field of architecture and urbanism; Author and co-author of around 100 scientific publications in Polish and English, including 3 monograph books (2007,2013,2019- in Polish). Editor and co-editor of scientific journals and books. The main currents of scientific research pertained to the problem of urbanised space in the scope of: public buildings and complexes with functions associated with culture; the revitalisation of neglected downtown urban areas; contemporary designs of urban public spaces; multi-family residential architecture; contemporary urban phenomenas: exurbanisation & metropolisation, lately also urban morphology. Experience in international, interdisciplinary research programmes, connected with the problems of planning, metropolisation, urban design within historic city cores. Academic since 2001, promoter of over 100 Master thesis and 4 doctoral dissertations. Member of numerous associations: SARP, TUP, SKZ, Polisch Chamber of Architects, KUiA PAN,  Scientific Boards of numerous Congresses (Future of the Cities-Cities of the Future, CTV Congresses, Arch-Eco, Urban Composition of Resilient City, Dream Silesia, etc.).
